Last summer, the “Gackern” (“Clucking”) in St. Andrä in the Lavanttal attracted no less than 70,000 visitors. The highlights of the event, which attracts both local and international guests over a period of 10 days, are the culinary delicacies featuring all kinds of poultry. With more than 30 chicken and turkey dishes, the “Gackern” was already acclaimed as a culinary TOP EVENT as early as in 2003. The varied musical programme makes the “Gackern” a unique event with an open-air feeling. In 2010, the Gackern festival celebrated its 10th anniversary, attracting a record number of visitors.
