Around 270 poultry farmers supply us with fresh produce every day. Most of them are mountain farmers up to 1000 m above sea level who earn a safe income from poultry breeding. Their stalls have enough space for stress-free poultry rearing, windows provide natural daylight and balanced feed ensures healthy nutrition. A little tap with the beak makes pure spring water run out of the faucet. The introduction of the farmhouse guarantee and a sophisticated logistics system enable the consumer to see where each Wech chicken was born and which farmer reared it.
Austria’s biggest supplier of organic poultry
Wech recognised the general rise in demand for organic products long ago, and offers both organically produced chicken and turkey. But what is so special about organic poultry? Like all Wech produce, our organic poultry comes from a closed production loop which however is guided and controlled by the principles of biological production. High-quality meat with a unique taste comes from special slow-growing turkeys and chickens; this is due to the long fattening period. Having started organic production at an early stage, Wech is now Austria’s most important producer of organic poultry.
